- Summary
- Pathe synopsis: Copper wire "combinations" for particularly cold weather is only one ingenious item designed at the Medical Research Council at Hampstead for use in this year’s Antarctic Expedition. The underclothing serves two purposes: it warms the wearer and measures the skin temperature at various points. These "guinea pig" scientists test their own inventions in a specially designed cold chamber where the temperature often remains at minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit. At that temperature centrally heated underwear is an explorer’s best friend.
