Summary
Pathe synopsis: Sculpture can be a long and tiring business for the sitter, but not when this new robot sculptor invented by George McDonald Reid is used. Mr Reid’s machine, the result of a year’s intensive experiments, works on much the same principle as contour grinding machines. A series of photographs of the subject projected onto a screen controls the action of a cutting needle on a block of plaster and produces finished models which are remarkably lifelike.
