Summary
Pathe synopsis: When it’s carnival time in Trinidad every other island activity is forgotten. Visitors from far and near fly in for this two-day fiesta which gets bigger and more elaborate every year. About fifty thousand people take part in the colourful procession, which takes four hours to pass a given point. Revellers form themselves into groups known as bands, adopting such exotic names as Brazilian Bandits and Glory of Greece. No expense is spared as each band strives to outshine the others by the colour and the originality of their costumes, and the 611 members of the Glory of Greece band for example used 700 sheets of aluminium, 3,000 yards of velvet and 6.000 yards of satin!
