- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Epic of Odessa. DESCRIPTION: The Soviet Black Sea port of Odessa has been under siege for two months and civilians and troops have been manning the barricades. Supplies and relief for the garrison are brought in by sea. SHOTLIST: Shots inside the town of Odessa. Men and women build defences while the daily routine goes on as usual. women do their shopping and trams still run. Armoured cars are constructed and trains are armour-plated. Units of the Black Sea fleet convoy sailors who come to help in the defence of Odessa. The guns of the cruisers blaze away against shore batteries and AA guns shoot at Nazi raiders.
