- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Soviet Hard Pressed. DESCRIPTION: The Germans, maintaining heavy pressure against the Soviet, have won successes in the North and South. In the central sector, Soviet troops under Marshal Timoshenko have counter-attacked around Smolensk. SHOTLIST: Shots from the "Hun At War". German prisoners are brought in and in a square in Moscow, wrecked German planes, dud bombs and shells are on show. Moscow’s AFS is lectured and contributions are made to the Defence Fund. Army awards are presented by Kalinin who is chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet. The troops hold a concert and Russian dances are performed. Very good shots of gun turret against the sky, also various shots of planes camouflaged. Shots of anti-aircraft guns. Included in this material are various shots ex. "Aid To Russia".
