Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Imperial Conference. DESCRIPTION: The Imperial Conference, led at St James’s Palace, was attended by members of the Cabinet, representatives of the British Empire and all of the Allies. The King also attended and conversed with many of them. Mr Churchill made a memorable speech to the Conference. SHOTLIST: Mr Churchill and the King arrive at St James’s Palace. Inside the King talks with many of the delegates, Mr Eden in attendance. Among others present are M Simopoulos [sic] (Greece), Messieurs Cassin and Dejaan [sic] (Free France), General Sikorski (Poland), Dr Gerbrandy (Holland), Baron Cartier de Marchienne (Belgium), Mr Jordan, Mr Bruce, Mr Vincent Massey and others. The Premier speaks. For Churchill’s speech see script with commentary. Ex. "We’ll wipe Hitler from face of the earth ... lift up your hearts".
