Summary
British Rail has solved many of its problems during the past few years - not all as most travellers know - but our railways network in taking on a slicker, more streamlined appearance. Diesel and electric have superseded the age of steam. But one steam loco still going strong is the Flying Scotsman, which is crossing the Atlantic on a trade boosting mission for Britain.
