With those historic and meaningful words His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales KG was invested as Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester by Her Majesty the Queen at Caernarvon Castle on the 1st July, 1969. The scene was one of splendour; the occasion one of history in the making.
