Summary
In Northern Ireland, too, it was anything but a peaceful weekend. What had started as a peaceful Civil Rights march turned into a battlefield when steel-helmeted police barred the way to avoid a Protestant area of the town. Demonstrators captured and burned five police vehicles. There were 20 arrests.
