Summary
Janists, the wealthiest religious sect in India, don’t spare their riches when it comes to worship. Once every 60 years, they make a pilgrimage to Sravan Belagola, 30,000 of them, to witness and take part in the anointing of the 57 feet high statue of their ancient founder, Gometeswara. It costs them between £10 and £2,500 to take part.
