Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Roosevelt and Draft Bill Symposium. DESCRIPTION: Conscription has been made law and the National Guard mobilised. Naval Reservists are also called up as America looks to her naval defence. SHOTLIST: Shot from library showing President Woodrow Wilson drawing from a hat. The National Guard have a medical and receive their uniforms. Before this they take the oath. Shots at Fort Dix where the camp is prepared to house the recruits. In port, aboard a ship. Captain Donald Patterson addresses cadets. At the San Diego Naval Training Centre, Secretary of the Navy Knox reviews a march past. At the Cal-Aero Academy, cadets are inspected before their machines. A new keel is welded by Mr Edison.
