Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: RAF on Top. DESCRIPTION: The RAF continues to fight off Nazi raiders. Houses, shops and a church are wrecked in Malden. Eastbourne also sustains some bomb damage. SHOTLIST: Attacks on barrage balloons resulting in several being shot down in flames. Wreckage at Malden. Houses, shops and a church destroyed. Mrs Dedman, whose house was demolished, sits on her Anderson Shelter. Damage at Eastbourne where a flag marks a bomb crater in front of ruined houses. A child’s toy has been blown out of one domain. Shots of wrecked German planes. Shots of the Home Guard which shot down a bomber with rifle fire. Shot of the plane - A Dornier 17. Mass formation of Nazi bombers flying towards London and AA fire bursting round them. A hit is registered and the gun crew congratulate themselves. Smoke rings made by Nazis to mark area to be bombed. "Spitfires" take off and fly in formation (CARD 39567). Library scenes of "Wellington" and "Blenheim" bombers in formation.
