Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Athenia Survivors in Scotland. DESCRIPTION: The liner taking a thousand passengers across the Atlantic was struck by a torpedo from a German submarine. The survivors are landed at Greenock. SHOTLIST: Policemen control large crowds at they swarm round the survivors as they come ashore. Motor coaches take them to a hotel and on arrival they pose. Mrs Eadie greets her son Robert who was a member of the crew. Mrs Mary Steinberg poses with two friends. Baggage Master McChaffie is also saved and William and Archie Miller (aged 9) pose with two little girls. Our story commences with shots of the "Athenia" in the Clyde, supplied by Scottish Films. (Cuts).
