Summary
Mme Chiang calls on President Truman at the White House and while there has a meeting with General George Marshall to talk over China’s problems. General de Gaulle was also in the USA and is seen bestowing decorations on American officers. Truman returns the compliment and decorates de Gaulle with the Order of Merit. After driving through New York’s streets he arrives at City Hall where Mayor La Guardia receives the Legion of Honour from the General.
