- Summary
- Berlin is now in allied hands. Through ruined streets tanks and artillery continue to fire in mopping-up operations. Orders go up for German civilians. GVs of ruined notable buildings including the Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate and the Chancellory. Union Jack is hoisted to signalise the taking over of the British sector of Berlin. Major General Lyne takes the salute as 7th Armoured Division drive past. Scottish pipers march in front of German Victory Memorial in Berlin. GV of the march past of infantry and mechanised units during the taking over of the British Sector.
