Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: ‘Yankee Clipper’ Arrives With Passengers. DESCRIPTION: The American ‘Yankee Clipper’ arrives at Southampton beginning the North Atlantic Air Mail Service. Then the ‘Dixie Clipper’ arriving at Marseille opening the Atlantic Passenger Service. SHOTLIST: The "Yankee Clipper" arrives and is moored. After coming ashore Sir Francis Shelmerdine speaks, followed by Judge R Walton-Moore. Mayor Southton then speaks followed by Mr JJ Trippe (Pan American Airways), Senator Dennis Chavel and then the President Secretary Stephen Early. New Air Service - CARD 36930 The Pan-American "Dixie" wings into Marseille and the passengers disembark. Among them is Mrs Clara Adams and Mr Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney.
