Summary
On the island of Bougainville in the Solomons airstrip is being made. Mechanical diggers help make flat surface then steel matting is laid for the runway base. Even before it’s ready the airfield becomes a target for attack and in the distance black smoke tells of an oil dump that was hit close by.
