History
Dateline Britain was a short-lived series of four issues, produced by the Central Office of Information and sponsored by the Commonwealth Relations Office for distribution on television in Canada. This was done in association with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation with the first issue, FACE OF YOUTH broadcast in February 1959. The series was presented by Canadian actor and actress, Bernard Braden and Barbara Kelly, who examined a single theme of contemporary Britain in each of the 28-minute issues. These were youth culture, the role of women in British society, London and Britain’s scientists, each of which was explored through a series of interviews, mostly shot on location.
