- History
- Commonwealth Review was a black and white 13-minute series, made by the Central Office of Information (COI) and sponsored by the Commonwealth Relations Office, for distribution in Commonwealth countries. Each issue consisted of about seven stories .'.. concerning Commonwealth personalities and events in Britain, and general activities in all countries of the Commonwealth.' [Films from Britain catalogue 1964-65]. Kay (West End) Laboratories produced Commonwealth Review no. 5 and were probably responsible for the entire series of thirty-nine issues which ran from 1964 to 1965.
- Provenance
- The sparse data for this series has been compiled from The British National Film Catalogue, the Films From Britain catalogue 1964-1965 [produced by the COI], COI index cards and film copies of Commonwealth Review held at the BFI National Archive. There is no record of the actual release date, in terms of day and month or even month, for issues of Commonwealth Review mainly because no production documents still exist.
