- The Way Ahead (National) was made by British Transport Films as an expansion of the popular news-based The Way Ahead (Wyvern). The series had a rather complicated structure, pairing national stories with individual stories made for each region of British Rail. Thus, Southern area would view the same national stories as Northern, but each would also view their own local stories as part of the same issue.
