Career
Arthur Smith was a Paramount sound engineer, first credited working with cameraman Ronnie Read [qv] on ‘OUTPUT BONUS PROMISES MORE HOUSES’ in British Paramount News No.1702 of June 1947. In February 1952 ‘Mr. Smith’ was listed on the British Paramount News ‘Daily Assignment Sheet’ for coverage of the funeral of George VI, setting up gear in London. In June 1953 Smith taped wildtrack sound for ‘TROOPING THE COLOUR’ in British Paramount News No.2326, and for ‘CORONATION NAVAL REVIEW’ in No.2327.
