C. Reed

Reed was commentator for two issues of the British Movietone News in August 1967 - Nos.1992A and 1993, acting as relief for Movietone’s regular commentator, Leslie Mitchell [qv]. His employment is similar to that of Peter Nerreter [qv], C. Hamilton [qv], and D. Scott-Job [qv], all of whom were tried out at this time. Peter Hampton [qv] recalled that Fox were tired of Mitchell and wanted a ‘more modern voice’ for the reel. A number of commentators were tried out, but only Nerreter was any good.
