Career
In about 1936 the cameraman Jimmy Ewins appeared in a Gaumont British publicity photograph, on top of a camera car. He continued to work with Gaumont British News after the outbreak of war in September 1939, and in May 1941 provided both ‘A TRIP ABOARD A MINELAYER’ for Gaumont British News No.771, and part of ‘THE KING SEES PARATROOPS AT WORK’ in No.773.
It is possible that he is the same J. E. Ewins who was cameraman and director for Our Magazine, the Children’s Film Foundation cinemagazine.
