Career
Ronnie Waldman was a well-known actor and producer throughout the 1930s. In 1948, he became Assistant Head of Variety Productions at the BBC, and was the regular presenter of the ‘MONDAY NIGHT AT 8’ radio series.
He also presented two issues of the Gas Council cinemagazine, Behind the Scenes; Nos.2 and 3, in 1953.
In 1950, Waldman was made BBC Head of Light Entertainment, and was responsible for discovering Morecambe and Wise. He held several other senior posts in the BBC, and was also President of the Lord’s Taverners in 1966.
Ronald Waldman died of cancer in March 1978, aged 63.
