P. Dennis

In 1915 Dennis was one of Will Barker’s [qv] darkroom staff who helped to develop footage of the Grand National, along with Leslie Eveleigh (chief cameraman at Barker Motion Photography), Sydney Blythe, and Oscar Bovill [qv]. With Eveleigh he also handled the rush printing of Barker’s feature film ‘Brigadier Gerard’ (1915). Dennis was later listed as one of the large Topical Budget camera team that filmed the wedding of the Duke of York and Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon for Topical Budget No.609-2 in April 1923. He was also a member of the huge camera team that filmed the ‘GRAND NATIONAL’ for Pathe Gazette No.1384 in March 1927.
