Career
Eddy Newstead was initially involved as a graphic designer and rostrum cameraman with London Line (1964-1978), a magazine programme produced by the Central Office of Information [qv] for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office [qv] and shown primarily in Africa and the Caribbean. The original title sequence for the ‘New Commonwealth’ versions of London Line were designed at shot by him. He returned to the series in the 1970s as a director. One of his earliest credits is for ‘How The Deaf Can Hear’ London Line No.476, released in 1974.
