Career

Renee Serlin started as a scriptwriter on the ‘New Commonwealth’ versions of London Line (1964-1978), a magazine programme produced by the Central Office of Information [qv]. These editions were shown in countries which had recently joined the Commonwealth, primarily in Africa and the Caribbean. One of her earliest credits is for ‘World Cup’, London Line No.109, released in 1966. Over the next few years she is credited as deputy editor and programme editor as well as scriptwriter on London Line. By 1973 she was directing issues such as ‘MINERAL WEALTH IN AFRICA’, London Line No.448.
