Career
Clifford was a cameraman with Pathe, based in the north-west and providing stories from Yorkshire, Lancashire, Derbyshire, North Wales, and Northern Ireland. Clifford’s first credit is for ‘DUKE OF KENT’S DERBYSHIRE TOUR’ in Super Sound Gazette No.35/101 of December 1935, after which he appears regularly on the issue sheets. In May 1937 Clifford was in the camera team for ‘THE CORONATION OF THEIR MAJESTIES KING GEORGE VI AND QUEEN ELIZABETH’ in Super Sound Gazette No.37/38, and in May 1938 he filmed ‘SHELSLEY HILL CLIMB’ in Issue No.38/43. Clifford’s last surviving credit is for ‘Lady Miller’ in new Series Pictorial No.143 of December 1938.
