Career
Edwin Catford began in the film industry in 1934 at Worton Hall Studios, working as an assistant cameraman and camera operator. In 1940 Catford joined the Crown Film Unit, and worked on such documentaries as ‘Christmas Under Fire’ and ‘Target for Tonight.' After the war Catford worked for Associated British Pathe, and he was cameraman on a few stories for the Pathe News, his credits being for ‘FILM STARS GARDEN PARTY’ in No.54/44 of June 1954, ‘WATER SKIING ON THAMES’ in No.55/3 of January 1955, and in the team that filmed ‘THE DERBY’ for No.55/42 of May 1955.
