History

United Motion Picture (London) Ltd is credited as the production company for several issues of the science series Frontier, produced by the Central Office of Information (COI) [qv] for the Commonwealth Relations Office [qv], later the Foreign and Commonwealth Office [qv]. These included Frontier No.3 ‘WeaR’ (1964), Fronter No.7 ‘Computers And Control’ (1965) and ‘THE HANDICAPPED CHILD’, Frontier (Colour series) No.1 (1969). During this period the company also produced some items for another COI series This Week In Britain (1959-1980), such as ‘Christmas With Ann Armstrong "Responaut’, released in 1966, a short series in Arabic, sponsored by the Foreign Office [qv], Moslems in Britain (1961 and 1964) which was directed by J. Fares [qv], the odd issue of Portrait (1959-1965), Calendar (1964-1968) and London Line (1964-1979) and several issues of The Enthusiasts (1967).

In 1955 the company was based in Denmark Street but by 1962 it had moved to Fitzroy Square.
