Career

Arthur Fisher had a scientific background, and by the time that he joined Pathe as a cameraman was both ‘D.Sc.' and ‘M.Eng.' In December 1922 the principal cameramen on the Pathe Pictorial and Eve’s Film Review were named as Ken Gordon [qv], Arthur Fisher, and D. Tampieri [qv], and they were said to be expert with all types of camera, including high-speed and microscopic. Fisher occasionally worked for the Pathe Gazette, being first credited in the team that filmed ‘THE GRAND NATIONAL, 1927’ for No.1384 of March 1927. In the following month he was also in the camera teams that filmed ‘THE BOAT RACE’ for Pathe Gazette No.1386, and ‘THE CUP FINAL, 1927’ for No.1392. In June 1927 Fisher helped to film ‘THE DERBY 1927’ for No.1403, and from July 1927 he worked individually on a number of stories, begining with ‘DONKEYS NO MONEY COULD BUY!' in No.1413. His last credit is for ‘THE ‘HONOURS EVEN’ BOAT RACE!' in Pathe Super Gazette No.1702 of April 1930.
