Career
H.E. Ashwood was a Pathe cameraman who was credited on the camera team that filmed ‘THE CORONATION OF THEIR MAJESTIES KING GEORGE VI AND QUEEN ELIZABETH’ for Super Sound Gazette No.37/38 of May 1937, and also provided film of ‘DWIGHT LONG’ for No.37/58 of July 1937. Ashwood remained with the Pathe Gazette after the outbreak of war in September 1939, and by July 1941 he was working in North Africa as a war cameraman. Ashwood provided a series of magazine items about killing flies, doing laundry, and combatting snakes which became ‘IN THE WESTERN DESERT’ in Pathe Gazette No.41/69 of August 1941.
