Notes
The 1953 credit appears as ‘Joseph,' but is probably a mistake for ‘Josephs.' Josephs’s first name was supplied by Peter Hampton [qv], but the Kine and TV Year Book 1966, p.158 lists ‘S.J. Josephs’ as a director of Five Cities Films.

Career

Keith Josephs was a cameraman whose first credit is in the team that filmed ‘THE CORONATION’ for British Movietone News No.1252A of June 1953, where he provided coverage from the Cumberland Hotel. Josephs reappears as the cameraman for ‘FREEMAN STAN!' in British Movietone News No.1782 from July 1963. This was the first of a series of stories from the north of England which Josephs supplied to the reel - including part of the coverage of the Grand National for ‘THE WORLD’S GREATEST STEEPLECHASE’ in No.1869 of March 1965. Terry Gallacher [qv] recalled Josephs as ‘a member of the Apollo group based in Leeds’ - Apollo Films Ltd. supplying Movietone with stories from the north of England, taken by cameramen such as Josephs and Neil Faith [qv]. However, from November 1967 the credits appear as ‘5 Cities (Josephs),' suggesting that Josephs was now with Five Cities Films Ltd. in Bradford, a company that had been supplying Movietone with northern stories since 1963. Josephs’ last credit is for ‘PARROT FASHION’ - an item from a Yorkshire zoo - in British Movietone News No.2059 of November 1968.
