Bad Supervision Video, The

Synopsis
What can PhD students do if their supervisors are unavailable, unhelpful or unprofessional? This video shows what can go wrong with the crucial relationship with supervisors, and aims to help students take action.
Prompted by first hand accounts from PhD students, The Bad Supervision Video is based on drama scenes, expert interviews and student testimonies. It was produced in partnership with University College London and is the 14th in a series for doctoral students used in more than 80 UK universities and overseas.
Producer Stephen Engelhard explains: "One of the first videos in the series, The Good Supervision Video, showed how the relationship with supervisors is meant to work. But too often it does not work as it should, causing stress and abandoned PhDs, so a new video to help students who feel let down is timely."
