Issues in Globalisation: How Fair is Fashion?

Synopsis
Using the international fashion industry as a case study this resource asks: what is globalisation? Is it an economic or a geographic phenomenon? What are its causes, and who benefits from it? Filmed in Bangladesh, this documentary compares the working and living conditions of textile workers employed in large scale factories in Dhaka, with those employed by a rural fair trade fashion initiative. This is an engaging resource, especially suitable to provoke discussions at a GCSE geography lessons level.
The pack includes Teachers’ Guidance Sheets, Teachers’ Resource Pages and Students’ Resource Pages.
