- Produced by Emmy-award winning Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman and Mark Herzog, ‘The Eighties’ is the third series in the acclaimed documentary strand chronicling American society and popular culture in the later twentieth century.
The seven part series covers the end of the Cold War, AIDS, Wall Street corruption, the personal computer boom, the rise of MTV and the music video, and the emergence of sophisticated television programmes such as Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere and Cheers.
