Owl Service, The

Synopsis
Granada Television’s adaptation of Alan Garner’s novel concerned with the triangular relationship between three teenagers living in a house in a Welsh valley. The character of Alison’s discovers a dinner service marked with a flower pattern in the attic of the house, and from this she makes a paper owl. This triggers a series of events in which the protagonists appear to be re-enacting the tragic story from the Welsh legend of Blodeuwedd, retold in the 11th Century book of The Mabinogion.
