Problem of Evil, The

Synopsis
This DVD features five short films addressing the problem of evil. The first film, The PROBLEM OF EVIL [12 minutes] looks at key concepts including the Inconsistent Triad, Theodicy, Natural Evil and Moral Evil. Film Two, The AUGUSTINIAN THEODICY [13 minutes] includes a critical examination of various of St Augustine’s ideas, including Privatio Boni, the Principle of Plenitude and the Doctrine of Original Sin. Film three, The IRENAEAN THEODICY [18 minutes] covers Soul-Making, Image/likeness, Epistemic Distance, the Greater Good argument, Dostoevsky, Plantinga and D.Z. Phillips. Film Four: PROCESS, PROTEST, MONIST THEORIES AND THE FREE WILL DEFENCE, looks at various other influential theodicies and the final film, The HOLOCAUST [11 minutes], provides a brief introduction to the subject.
