Farm Aninals and Us 2

Synopsis
Compares intensive systems such as the sow stall, farrowing crate and battery cage with free-range alternatives, considering how well these systems meet the behavioural needs animals inherited from wild ancestors. Examines the sentiency of farm animals - their intelligence and capacity for feelings and suffering. The final section explores the economics of free-range versus intensive production and considers the practicalities of trying to provide food for the world.
