People at the Centre of Continuous Improvement
- Synopsis
- This video can be used to enhance understanding of continual improvement techniques in the automotive industry.
The automotive industry is one of the most competitive in the world and companies have long realised that they must remain competitive to remain in business. This video concentrates on a recent initiative that has been instigated by the SMMT Industry Forum who are running a program to introduce tools and techniques to companies which will encourage them to think about continuous improvement in a structured way. Once the lead company has been indoctrinated into the program they are encouraged to spread these ideas down through their supply chains. The video describes the tools and techniques used and how these have been applied within their various companies and delivered considerable improvements in each. The video also explores the issues surrounding the application of such a program and what structure needs to be put into place to maximise the chances of success. - Series

- NB. As of May 2016 Open University Worldwide are no longer distributing DVDs. They have posted this message on their website: ‘Unfortunately Open University Worldwide Limited has decided that product sales are no longer viable given the reduced funding to Higher Education institutions and diminishing demand for the products we have traditionally stocked. At present the Open University Students Association (OUSA) will continue to sell the "Good Study Guide", and we are in discussion with other possible distributors to continue to make The Open University’s products available for purchase. As soon as we have any information on other channels of distribution we will update this notice’. Some products are still available via second hand dealers on Amazon.co.uk
