Transporters, The

Synopsis
The series of 15 5-minute animations was created especially for children with autism spectrum conditions who find it hard to recognise causes of emotion and facial expressions of emotion. The individual programmes feature animated toy vehicle characters who have emotional experiences and adventures. It aims to help children enhance their understanding of the causes of emotions and of emotional expressions. Each programme focuses on a particular emotion. The Transformers project is a partnership between Culture Online, Cambridge University’s Autism Research Centre, Catalyst Pictures and the National Autistic Society.
NB The film A PARENT’S VIEW is streamed online from http://www.transporters.tv/ . It shows Carole Scibor talking about her son taking part in evaluating The Transporters and how it has helped him.
