Synopsis
Each volume consists of a compilation of early, short films. Originally shot on inflammable nitrate stock the films have now been restored and made generally available.

Vol 2 includes: ‘Those Awful Hats’ (1909), ‘The Mystery Of The Leaping Fish’ (1916), 3 Comic Shorts ('Chasing The Monkey’, ‘For Her Mother’s Day’ and ‘Kiriki, Japanese Acrobats’, 1906-9), ‘La Marseillaise’ (1907), ‘Week-End’ (1935), ‘Clo-Cloche’ (1935), ‘Play Safe’ (1935), ‘Stolen Kisses’ (1920), ‘Paris Fashion’ (1926), ‘Black And Tan’ (1929), 3 Animated Shorts (by cartoonist O’Galop, 1918), ‘Dr. Pyckle And Mr. Pryde’ (1925), ‘Porky’s Preview’ (1941) and ‘The Flight Around The World’ (1924).

Vol 3 includes: ‘What A Whopper’ (1921), ‘In The Land Of Giants And Pygmies’ (1925), ‘Cartoon Factory’ (1924), ‘The Dancing Pig’ (1907), ‘Madame Babylas Loves Animals’ (1911), ‘Slapstick News’ (1948), 6 Commercials (directed by Lortac, 1920), ‘The Great Train Robbery’ (1903), ‘Snake Dance In The Lion’s Cage’ (1900), ‘Kobelkoff’ (1900), ‘Hollywood Steps Out’ (1941), ‘Never Weaken’ (1921), ‘Jazz Hot’ (1939) and ‘The Flight Around The World’ (1924).

Vol 6 includes: Down in the deep - under the sea in colour (1907), Suspense - directed by and starring Lois Weber (1913), Balloon Land - a cartoon by Ub Iwerks, the inventor of MickeyMouse (1935), Naughty Boys (1905), BIP..BIP..BIP..(1950), Post No Bills - slapstick with James Parrot (1923), Making an American Citizen (1912), Makin ‘Em Move - visit to an animation studio (1931), Giraffe Hunting in Uganda - tinted documentary (1910), The Pest - starring Stan Laurel (1922), Gregor and his Gregorians - jazz opera featuring Stephane Grappelli (1930), French cinema commercials (1936), Flight around the World - final episode of the serial (1924).
