- Synopsis
- The story of an excavation at Mellor, on the spur of a hill on the Western edge of the Peak District. The ground showed no evidence of archaeological features until a green line appeared across a field in the drought of 1995. After a preliminary investigation in 1998 a more extensive excavation in 2002 revealed Iron Age ditches, evidence of a roundhouse and Neolithic, Iron Age and Roman finds. The video also shows a replica roundhouse built by local students.
