Synopsis
Four-part dramatisation of Zadie Smith’s acclaimed novel about three north London families. Following a failed suicide attempt, middle-aged Archie Jones finds his life changed thanks to a chance encounter at a New Year’s Eve party. After a whirlwind romance, he marries a woman half his age who has fled from her devout Jehovah’s Witness mother. Meanwhile, Archie’s old war comrade has also married a younger woman.
