Synopsis: A video resource for students studying the short play ‘The Island’ , devised in 1973 by playwright Athol Fugard and the actors John Kani and Winston Ntshona. The video is filmed on Robben Island and focuses on Dr John Kani discussing the play, its setting and relevance to post-apartheid South Africa.
