Naked Civil Servant, The

Synopsis
An award-winning biographical film based on the life of the late Quentin Crisp. Crisp introduces the film, a funny and moving story of his constant battle from the 1930s onwards to express his outrageous brand of homosexuality openly through years of intolerance and even violence. John Hurt plays Crisp in the Thames TV film that was first broadcast on ITV in 1976. DVD extras include the 25 minute bonus documentary MAVIS CATCHES UP WITH QUENTIN CRISP, a Granada profile from 1975 entitled SEVEN MEN - QUENTIN CRISP as a commentary from John Hurt, director Jack Gold, and producer Verity Lambert.
