Synopsis

Reviews some of the sustainable energy projects and plans that have emerged in and around the area covered by the Milton Keynes-based South Midlands Renewable Energy Advice Centre, following on from the Local Agenda 21 process that emerged from the Rio Earth Summit. Examines the active and passive solar house projects in Milton Keynes, Sue Roaf’s photovoltaic house in Oxford, the Leicester ‘eco-house’ demonstration centre, and Tony Mammont’s solar and wind system at West Beacon Farm near Leicester.
