Synopsis
Professor David Cove presents a three-part programme based on his book of the same name looking at the real issues in genetic engineering. He explains what genetic engineering is and how it works, and then looks at a number of examples before addressing the underlying ethical questions. Part 1 explains the nature of DNA, the function it performs and how it replicates; part 2 explains with examples how genetic engineering is performed; part 3 looks at some examples of genetic engineering and the associated risks.
