Finishes in Concrete 1

Synopsis
Illustrates the most frequently used finishes and the way they are produced. Concrete finishes fall into two main categories: 1) direct or ‘as cast’ finishes produce modelled or sculptured results direct from the moulds whereas 2) indirect finishes require some secondary process after casting. At a precast works finishes including washing and brushing, abrasive blasting and tooling, are seen. Shows the method of producing striated concrete with the ribs knocked off - a finish which combines both the direct and the indirect techniques.
