Synopsis
A silent version of the legend about a man who sells his soul to the devil. Based on a play by Goethe. The DVD is taken from the recently rediscovered German version of the film rather than the export version which available previously, and the two versions differ in several respects. DVD extras include: audio commentary by critics David Ehrenstein and Bill Krohn; Tony Rayns on Faust — a 20-minute video piece; Faust: The different versions - a 20-minute video comparison by R. Dixon Smith; production stills and promotional art gallery. 28-page booklet with an essay by Peter Spooner and archive reprints.
